“For Body and Soul Take the Stroll”

| WHEN: February 23, 2008 - 10am WHERE: Community Center, Goliad TX WHAT: Fitness Walk! Amigos of Goliad State Park is sponsoring a "For Body and Soul, Take the Stroll" fitness walk along the Goliad Hike and Bike Trail through the Goliad State Park. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008. The walk offers the entire family an opportunity to enjoy a fun, outdoor activity together while raising funds for the State Park. The Angel of Goliad Trail is named after Senora Francisca Panchita Alvarez, hero of the Texas Revolution. The wife of an officer in the Mexican army, Francisca saved the lives of at least 28 Texians. The trail is approximately 4.5 miles round-trip, and winds along the San Antonio River Valley from downtown Goliad, past Mission Espiritu Santo, passing the Zaragoza statue and ending at the Fannin Monument. Participants can take in some history and visit the historical sites along the way. The walk will begin at 10am at the Community Center in Goliad. Lunch will be served at the Community Center after the walk. To register, please click on the link below. The $10. Registration fee includes lunch. Children age 10 years and under are FREE!
