IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN GOLIAD MARKET DAYS, ALL VENDORS
MUST AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING PROVISIONS BY SIGNING BELOW:
- Goliad
County Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to remove any vendor at any
time for any violation of the regulations set forth in the current year’s
rules regarding Goliad Market Days.
- In
consideration of the use of one or more spaces by the undersigned vendor
participating in Goliad Market Days, the undersigned agrees to defend,
indemnify, and hold harmless the Goliad County Chamber of Commerce, its’
officers, agents, employees, and members from and against all liabilities,
claims, suits, or demands for injuries to any person and/or property
arising out of the undersigned’s participation in such activity. The undersigned further agrees to
assume all financial responsibility, including but not limited to damages
to property or injuries to persons, arising out of vendors participation
in Goliad Market Days.
- Any
person whose check is returned unpaid to the chamber from any bank for
insufficient funds or any other reasons will be charged $27.00 plus any
other applicable fees.
- NO
VENDOR shall sell any illegal items or items that infringe upon registered
trademarks.
- I
have read all the rules and regulations of the Goliad County Chamber of
Commerce Market Days and agree to abide by them

FOR 2008

MARKET DAYS
TIME & SET-UP
We advertise that vendors
are doing business between 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.
You may start setting up your booth at 6:30 A.M. and must be totally
set-up by 9 A.M. Your prepaid space
will be held until 8 A.M. If you are
not in your space by that time or if you have not informed us that you are
going to be late, we will assume that you are not coming and will resell your
space and you will not be entitled to any refund. All booths must stay open until 4 P.M. (Exceptions: In the extreme heat of the summer months no vendor
will be charged for leaving early). In
case of emergency, notify the Chamber office @ (361) 645-3563.
FEES*

Courthouse Square
Spaces - 10’ X 10’ = $30/month or $300 annually
5’ X 10’ = $25/month or $250 annually

Vacant Lot and Branch
Lot Spaces - 10’ X 10’ = $25/month or $250 annually

Street Spaces (not
marked; first come, first serve) - 10’ X 10’ = $25/month or $250 annually

OF THE MONTH PRECEEDING MARKET DAYS, ALL FEES INCREASE BY $5 FOR ALL UNPAID
SPACES
All spaces on the
Courthouse Square are between the sidewalk and the curb and are 10 feet
deep. (Vendors are NOT allowed to place
items between the sidewalk and courthouse).
Spaces on the vacant lots are marked.
Full spaces are 10’ wide. Half
spaces are 5’ wide and have a sign, lamppost or tree in them.
All sales are final and
non-refundable. Goliad County Chamber
of Commerce does not cancel Market Days nor refund any monies.
RETURNED CHECKS - Any person whose check is returned unpaid to the chamber
from any bank for insufficient funds or any other reason will be charged $27.00
plus any other applicable fees.
SPACE RENEWAL AND RESERVATIONS
The Chamber of Commerce office (231 S. Market St) will be
open from 6:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. each Market Day Saturday to accept
reservations, with payment, from vendors that want to reserve a space for the
next Market Days. All spaces that
have not been reserved and paid for will be considered open and will be on a
first-come, first-serve basis. You
may pay for as many months as you wish.
Vendors must sell out of their booth only. Positively no soliciting allowed on the sidewalks or outside your
booth. You may not sublet your
space. You may not share your
space. All rentals must be handled
through the Goliad County Chamber of Commerce.
Any vendor who does not respect this regulation will be denied vending
privileges at future events.
REGISTRATION
All vendors must complete
the application and sign the release and indemnification agreement and
rules. Please notify the Chamber office
if any of the information changes.
Applications, payment of fees and applicable permits must be given to
the Chamber of Commerce BEFORE you set up.
ELECTRICITY
Will be offered with a charge of $10 that will be payable in
addition to your booth fee. If payment
for electricity is being made the day of the show, it must be paid no later
than 9 A.M. Limited electricity
is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Electrical outlets are not available to all booths. You must tell the person with whom you are
registering that you need electricity to sell your product. You must bring your own heavy-duty extension
cord; 100’ to 200’ is sufficient. Cords
across walkways must be taped down. Do
not overload outlets; do not use more than normally used on one household
outlet. At the close of Market
Days, our Market Days Custodian, Paul Garcia will visit your booth to pick up
the “pigtail”.
SALES TAX NUMBERS
The State Comptroller of
Public Accounts requires you to have a sales tax number and to pay sales
tax. (The tax rate in Goliad is
currently 8 ¼ %) Be sure to include
your number on the application and a copy of your permit for our files. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT SALES TAX
CALL THE OFFICE OF THE STATE COMPTROLLER AT 800 252-5555. Tax rate cards are available in the Chamber
office.
FOOD VENDOR PERMITS
The Texas Department of
Health requires food vendors to obtain permits. A food vendor will NOT BE ALLOWED to set up without the proper
permit. Yearly licensed food wagons
will need to show their annual permit yearly.
Original permits must be displayed in the vendor’s booth. Please provide the Chamber office with a
copy for our files. Vendors with
temporary food licenses must bring their original to the Chamber office on the
day of the show (or before) and the Chamber will make a copy of the permit for
our files. TO INQUIRE ABOUT PERMITS,
EXEPTIONS, OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION, CALL THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AT
(888) 963-7111. The State of Texas
occasionally sends representatives to Market Days in order to verify sales tax
and food permits.
OVERNIGHT CAMPING ON DOWNTOWN STREETS is not allowed.
Camping is available in the Goliad State Park and local RV parks. Vendors may place items in their spaces
Friday night, however, no security will be provided and the Goliad County
Chamber of Commerce is not responsible for loss, damage or theft.
ANIMALS
Pets which accompany you
and animals which are being sold must be caged or on a leash. A box is not considered a cage. No animals are allowed in a food vendor’s
booth. Please do not allow your pet to
go to the toilet on the Courthouse Square.
PRODUCT LIMITS
Fireworks or explosives of
any kind may not be possessed or sold on the Courthouse Square or the lots used
by vendors - this is a City ordinance.
Market Days officials reserve the right to remove any item judged
unacceptable. The Chamber of Commerce
reserves the right to limit the number of booths of the same product. A photograph of your items must be included
with your Application for Market Days, for approval.
CLEAN-UP
It is your responsibility
to ensure your space is clean and orderly before leaving. Trash containers are provided for your
use. A special barrel for coals and
ashes will be available. DO NOT PUT
COALS ON THE GROUND OR STREET. Failure
to clean your space may result in a clean-up fee or an increase in rent.
PARKING
·
THERE IS NO RESERVED
PARKING FOR MARKET DAYS. ALL HANDICAP
PARKING MUST BE OBSERVED. ONLY VEHICLES
WITH HANDICAP PERMITS MAY USE THOSE SPACES.
There is one handicapped temporary parking space at the vacant lot, for
those who have a registered handicapped vehicle to use the restroom facilities
and leave.

Parked vehicles MUST
NOT block entrances to walkways.
Vehicles MUST NOT block the drive-thru lane in the bank’s parking
lot.
·
The vendors on the
square whose booths are on the east side will have to move their vehicle once
finished unloading. There is some
parking available for the vendors on the courthouse square. Those parking spaces are for vehicles
only. You may not use that space for
retail use.
·
There is limited
parking for vendors with spaces on the vacant lots. Additional vehicles are to be parked in the parking lot on the
West side of the square, next to the library.
There is also space at the County Tax Office at the corner of Market
Street and Fannin Street.
·
Please keep the
parking in front of the stores open for shoppers. Vendors
parking in front of stores will be asked to move their vehicles.
·
No parking within
barricaded areas after 9 A.M. Violation
of any of the above parking rules will result in the vehicle being towed at
owner’s expense.
RESTROOM FACILITIES
There are Porto-Lets
adjacent to the Courthouse Square next to the Goliad County Public Library on
the west side of the square on Commercial Street. There are also public restrooms on End Street.
RESTRICTIONS
No alcohol is allowed on
the Courthouse Square or in your booth.
EMERGENCIES
If you have an emergency
before 10 A.M. contact one of the Chamber officials in orange vest or visit the
Chamber office. In case of a dire
emergency, please dial 911.
VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE
GOLIAD MARKET DAY RULES, UNDER SOLE DISCRETION OF THE GOLIAD COUNTY CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE STAFF, SHALL RESULT IN THE TERMINATION OF YOUR PERMIT AND A REQUEST TO
LEAVE THE PREMISES.
