Greetings from Goliad!
Welcome to new and old friends of Faye's Texas Naturals, the chili petin pepper place! We are located on the beautiful courthouse square in historic downtown Goliad, and we welcome you to the unique world of Texas' own native pepper, the chili petin. This little fireball is sure to tantalize your taste buds!
Chili petins grow wild in Texas, in our yards, around cattle pens, and in our flower beds. Even the birds love 'em! Once you have eaten a chili petin, all other peppers pale; its unique taste is one to love!
The wild berries and peppers we use in our products are handpicked from their natural state, in communion with Mother Nature. We use no artificial preservatives, and no insecticides have been applied to the berries and peppers. We make our products the old-fashioned way--in small batches.
CHILI PETIN JELLIES
Red Chili Petin Pepper Jelly ( 8 1/4 oz.)
Green Chili Petin Pepper Jelly (8 1/4 oz.)
Faye's Texas Naturals offers chili petin jelly from the two growing stages of the peppers; the green is made whent he pepeprs produce their first fruit, and the red after the pepper has been allowed to fully mature. The question most often asked is, "Which is hotter?" The answer is never the same; only tasting will tell. We have tried to make our pepper jelly mild enough so that non-pepper eaters can enjoy it as much as we pepper-lovers do. Always remember, "The bigger the bite, the hotter the taste!"
Chili Petin Onion Jelly (8 1/4 oz.)
This jelly is the onion lovers' delight! It is made from sweet Texas onions, with a good shot of chili petin peppers. Try it over cream cheese or, for a sweet-hot treat, glaze chicken or your favorite meat with it.
HOT! HOT! HOT!
Chili Petin Pepper Sauce (2 oz., 5 oz.)
These little pickled fireballs will stay hot forever, provided you can abstain from taking the lid off and eating the peppers--just replenish the white vinegar as you use it. This is really the old standby for eating on greens and spinach. All Texans have one of these sitting in the pantry or in the chuck wagon! Packaged in a neat little shaker bottle for easy use.
Dry Ground Chili Petin Pepper (1/2 oz., 1 oz.)
Pure fire, dried and ground--it will "light up your life!" Use sparingly! No fingers to the eyes after touching! A little of this goes a long way! Remember, you can run, but you can't hide from this pepper. Listed as a world-class HOT HOT HOT pepper, these will take care of those who say, "You can't get it hot enough for this hombre!"
Uncensored Mustard (7 oz.)
Fat free and red hot! Try this chili petin mustard to perk up the usual sandwich. It does wonders for potato salad, soups, and Chinese food. Be creative! You'll never go back to plain yellow after this!
Chili Petin Picante (8 oz., 16 oz.)
Caliente (Hot)

Chili Petin Picante Caliente is milder, and Chili Petin Picante Muy Caliente is for the fire eaters in the house!

THE "WILD ONES"
Wild Dewberry Jelly
Dewberries grow in sandy loam soil along railroad tracks and in pastures. Their delicious sweet taste makes these berries much sought after during their short growing season. Texans love their dewberry cobbler and the seedless jelly made fromthese dark red beauties. Bring on the hot biscuits!
Wild Mustang Grape Jelly
You have to be part monkey to pick these little jewels, but they are definitely worth the effort! This is a Texas product of long standing.
Wild Agarita Jelly
The tiny red agarita is the wild Texas currant. This old-timer has been around since Grandma's day, and has always been considered a delicacy. Because of the hard work involved in harvesting and preparing this jelly, it has almost fallen by the wayside. This is truly something different for that someone special.
THE CACTUS
Prickly Pear Cactus Jelly
Prickly pear grows all over Texas; sometimes wanted and sometimes not, it is considered by some a useless, ugly creation covered by thorns. Others, however, consider the meat of the pad a delicacy; it is more commonly known as "nopalitos." From this lowly plant comes a delicious jelly made from the "apple" or "tuna," after it has bloomed and turned a bright crimson. Although making the jelly requires a lot of work--the thorns must be singed off--it is well worth the effort.
