Many thanks to those who attended the Goliad County Chamber of Commerce Banquet: Let the Good Times Roll – Mardi Gras!  Everyone enjoyed the Mardi Gras atmosphere that the Banquet Committee worked hard to create.  The décor and food were fabulous – many thanks to Robert Werner and Werner’s Catering for going above and beyond in creating a Cajun mood for the event. 

There are many people to thank, first and foremost is the committee, which consisted of Cristy Billo (Chair), Carroll Norrell-Garrison, Stephanie Harvey, Mike Moore, Eula Pfeninger, Linda Rojas-Rodriguez, Debbie Schrimscher, Kristy Von Dohlen and Rebecca Walker.

This year’s honorees were as follows:  Senior Citizen Award to Raymond Smithey; Employee of the Year to Allene Bethke; Agriculture Award to Kai Buckert and the Wexford Ranch;  Animal Rescue Angel to Dan and Deborah Gamblin;  Outstanding Youth in Agriculture to Kayla Brandes; Volunteer of the Year to Brian Yanta, Economic Development Ally to Absolute Waste; Anice Read Memorial to Louise O’Connor; Water Conservation to Ginger Cook and Ernest Alaniz; Honored Organization to the Goliad Chapter of the Texas Historical Commission, Anne Kohler Outstanding Citizen Award to Louis J. Rodriguez; and Goliad Chamber of Commerce Director of the Year to Cristy Billo. Chamber President Mike Moore handed over the reins to Linda Rojas-Rodriguez as president of the Chamber of Commerce Board for 2012-2013.
